CAPA- COVID associated Pulmonary Aspergillosis
Severe COVID-19 is characterized acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) secondary to viral pneumonitis, treatment of which may require mechanical ventilation or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). The risk of fungal co-infection, in particular COVID-19 associated pulmonary aspergillosis (CAPA), remains underappreciated. Ground‐glass opacities characterize COVID‐19 as well as IPA, thus comprehensive microbiological evaluation can prevent missing IPA
