Fibrosing sarcoidosis-CT

Case of fibrosing sarcoidosis, showing fibrosis, traction bronchiectases and crowding of the involved bronchi, predominantly upper lobes. Nodular abnormalities are absent, but the appearance and the location of the fibrosis are very suggestive of the diagnosis of sarcoidosis.

Chest films in sarcoidosis have been classified into four stages:
  1. Bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy
  2. Bilateral hilar lymphadenopath + pulmonary disease
  3. Only pulmonary disease
  4. Irreversible fibrosis
